چکیده

Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), one of the most used working fluids in HVAC&R and ORC applications, are being phased down rapidly because their high global warming potential (GWP). Consequently, this sector is looking for suitable eco-friendly low-GWP alternatives to representative 3rd generation HFC refrigerants (R-134a, R-404A, R-410A, R-245fa). This article reviews publicly available investigations regarding thermodynamic transport properties system performance several molecules. First, added ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 34 since 2015 (R-1130(E), R-1336mzz(Z), R-1336mzz(E), R-1233zd(E), R-1224yd(Z), R-13I1, R-1132a) considered. Then, other molecules identified recent studies but not been yet that standard (R-1123, R-1243zf, R-1225ye(Z), R-1132(E), R-1252ye, R-1261ze, R-1141) investigated. The R-1233zd(E) R-1224yd(Z) well described, suitability high-temperature heat pump (HTHP) Organic Rankine cycle (ORC) systems experimentally confirmed. R-1336mzz(Z) R-1132a considered promising HTHP systems, ULT respectively. R-13I1 as a flame suppressant recently developed blends, such R-466A. Properties R-1123, R-1225ye(Z) have studied, they single compound due safety concerns. Therefore, further needed confirm suitability. R-1130(E), R-1141 molecules, so scarce property data available, no conclusions can be extracted about them.

The energy and exergy analysis of a novel cogeneration organic Rankine power and two-stage compression refrigeration cycle

The energy crisis in recent years has led to the use of thermodynamic cycles that work based on renewable energies. Low-temperature cycles—such as organic cycles—are suitable strategies for the application of renewable energies. The present study proposes a novel cycle through the integration of a two-stage compression refrigeration cycle with a combined Rankine power and ejector refrigerat...

Comparative investigation of working fluids for an organic Rankine cycle with geothermal water

In this paper, the thermodynamic investigation on the use of geothermal water (130 ◦C as maximum) for power generation through a basic Rankine has been presented together with obtained main results. Six typical organic working fluids (i.e., R245fa, R141b, R290, R600, R152a, and 134a) were studied with modifying the input pressure and temperature to the turbine. The results show that there are n...

Optimal Heat Source Temperature For Supercritical Organic Rankine Cycle

Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) enables power generation from lowto medium temperature heat sources. In an ORC, the organic medium shows different performances for different heat source temperatures. For a range of heat source temperatures, one temperature can be always identified corresponding to the best thermal match between the heat transfer fluid and working fluid. This temperature is defined ...

Study on Mixed Working Fluids with Different Compositions in Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Systems for Vehicle Diesel Engines

One way to increase the thermal efficiency of vehicle diesel engines is to recover waste heat by using an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) system. Tests were conducted to study the running performances of diesel engines in the whole operating range. The law of variation of the exhaust energy rate under various engine operating conditions was also analyzed. A diesel engine-ORC combined system was des...

Effect of Working-fluid Mixtures on Organic Rankine Cycle System Performance: Heat Transfer and Cost Analysis

A thermodynamic limitation of single-component working fluids in organic Rankine cycles (ORCs) is the large exergy destruction (and, consequently, useful power loss) associated with evaporation and condensation. Due to their non-isothermal phasechange behaviour, non-azeotropic working-fluid mixtures have shown reduced exergy losses, leading to improved cycle efficiencies and power outputs. Thes...
